Hab: Circumneutral soil of woodlands over mafic rocks (such as amphibolite) or other calcareous substrates, hammocks. Dist: Primarily Ozarkian, but extending in scattered populations eastward as far as FL Panhandle (Gadsden and Liberty counties), sw. GA, nw. GA, sc. TN, nw. SC (Pickens County), and sw. NC (Polk County).
