Hygrophila lacustris (Schlechtendal & Chamisso) Nees. Gulf Swampweed. Phen: Jun-Sep. Hab: Shallow water of swamps and shores. Dist: Sw. GA south to c. FL Peninsula, west to e. TX; West Indies.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: H. lacustris has recently been interpreted as a component within H. costata, widespread in the Neotropics (Daniel 2013).

Synonymy: = GW2, K1, K3, K4, S, Tx, Les & Wunderlin (1981), Long (1970), Wasshausen (1998); = Ruellia lacustris Schlectendahl & Cham.; < Hygrophila costata Nees et al. – Fl6, WH3, Daniel (2013)
