Physalis angulata Linnaeus. Smooth Ground-cherry. Phen: Aug-Oct. Hab: Longleaf pine sandhills, disturbed areas, open woodlands, agricultural fields. Dist: Widely distributed in tropical America, north to se. VA and MO, and scattered as an adventive farther north.
