Cirsium virginianum (Linnaeus) Michaux. Common name: Virginia Thistle. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: Moist to fairly dry pine savannas, bogs. Distribution: S. NJ south to ne. FL, on the Coastal Plain.
