Helianthus laetiflorus Persoon. Phen: Late Jul-Sep. Hab: Disturbed areas; introduced from farther west. Dist: Widely scattered in e. and c. North America, believed to be a derivative of the hybrid of H. pauciflorus Nuttall ssp. subrhomboideus (Rydberg) O. Spring & E. Schilling and H. tuberosus.
