Taxonomy Comments: See Wieboldt & Semple (2003) for additional information. The species is a decaploid (2n=90). The SC populations have a different polyploid derivation than S. faucibus s.s., and should likely be recognized as a separate species (Patrick McMillan, pers. comm., 2022).
