Symphyotrichum ontarionis (Wiegand) Nesom var. ontarionis. Common name: Bottomland Aster. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: Bottomlands, swamps, bogs. Distribution: QC, ON, MN, and SD, south to WV, GA, AL, MS, LA, and TX.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: See Nesom (1997) and Brouillet & Labrecque (1997). Semple et al. (2024) reported two ploidies for this taxon: 2n=16 and 2n=32.
