Viola chalcosperma Brainerd. Section: Nosphinium. Subsection: Borealiamericanae. Jacksonville Violet. Hab: Moist soils bordering swamps. Dist: Jacksonville, FL (type locality); may be more widespread in ne. FL than the type locality suggests.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Long subsumed under V. edulis but distinct in foliage, floral, fruit and seed features.

Synonymy: = S13, Ballard, Kartesz, & Nishino (2023); < Viola affinis Leconte – K3; < Viola palmata L. – Fl2; < Viola sororia Willd. – FNA6
