APIACEAE

Heracleum mantegazzianum Sommier & Levier. Giant Hogweed. Phen: Jun-Aug. Hab: Disturbed areas, pastures. Dist: Native of the Caucasus Mountains. Introduced and well-established in ne. North America; recently found in NC (Poindexter, Weakley, & Denslow 2011). Recently reported as persistent and spreading from plantings in Clarke County, VA (J. Metzgar, pers. comm., 2018).
