Hypericum dissimulatum E.P. Bicknell. Deceptive St.-John's-wort. Phen: Jul-Sep. Hab: Saturated sandy or peaty soils. Dist: ME south to se. VA.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Perhaps a hybrid of H. boreale × canadense or possibly H. canadense × mutilum, but seemingly sometimes occurring away from one or both alleged parents. The uncertainty of its hybridity argues for its recognition for now as a putative hybrid-derived species.
