Crataegus teres Beadle. Common name: Smooth Alabama Hawthorn. Phenology: Mar-Apr; Aug-Sep. Habitat: Pine-oak forests, sandy woodlands. Distribution: S. AL, possibly e. to GA.
ID notes: Crataegus teres is an unusual, glabrate entity of the series Lacrimatae, superficially resembling unrelated C. crus-galli.

Taxonomy Comments: Similar and assumed closely allied to C. florens Beadle, or possibly of intermediate origin.
