Juniperus ashei Buchholz. Section: Sabina. Ashe Juniper, Rock Cedar, Ozark White-cedar. Phen: Mar-Apr. Hab: Exposed calcareous bluffs and glades, usually on very steep slopes atop cliffs or on flat glades with much exposed bedrock. Dist: S. MO, AR, and OK south to TX (especially the Edwards Plateau) and adjacent Mexico (COA, NLE).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Adams (2008c) separated J. ashei into two varieties; following phylogenetic analyses, Adams & Schwarzbach (2013b) elevated the varieties to species rank.
