Erigeron traversii Shinners. West Gulf Coastal Plain Fleabane. Phen: Mar-Apr. Hab: Longleaf pinelands and associated disturbed sandy habitats. Dist: W. LA west to e. TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Variously considered a mere form of E. strigosus, a full species, or a variety of E. strigosus (see synonymy); needing reassessment. In parallel with the treatment of other sexual diploids in the E. strigosus complex, we here accord this taxon species rank. See Noyes, Gerling, & Vandervoort (2006) for detailed discussion.

Synonymy: = Tx; = Erigeron strigosus Muhl. ex Willd. var. traversii (Shinners) Noyes – K3, K4, Noyes, Gerling, & Vandervoort (2006); < Erigeron strigosus Muhl. ex Willd. var. strigosus – FNA20
