Solidago canescens (Rydberg) Friesner. Subgenus: Pleiactila. Section: Ptarmicoidei. Plains Bold Goldenrod. Phen: Aug-Oct. Hab: Upland prairies. Dist: ON and AB south to MO, OK, TX (?), and NM.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: This taxon includes only diploids (2n=18). It seems to warrant species rank, as Solidago canescens (Rydberg) Friesner, based on morphological distinctness and ploidy difference from Solidago rigida, with which it widely overlaps distribution.
