Cyperus fuligineus Chapman. Limestone Flatsedge. Phen: Mar-Aug. Hab: Pine rocklands, coastal rock barrens, edges of tidal marshes on limestone. Dist: Florida Keys; West Indies.

ID notes:The glaucous culms and reddish spikelets easily separate this species at a glance from C. lupulinus and C. filiculmis, which also have larger achenes; C. ligularis and C. planifolius also have glaucous culms and reddish spikelets, but both are much more robust plants with numerous, well-developed, pedunculate spikes.
