Cyrtopodium punctatum (Linnaeus) Lindley. Cowhorn Orchid, Cigar Orchid. Phen: Mar-May. Hab: Epiphytic on trees in dome swamps, strand swamps, pine rocklands, marl prairies, buttonwood woodlands, hammocks, and along salt marsh margins of buttonwood hammocks. Dist: S. FL; West Indies; Mexico, Central America, and n. South America.

ID notes:The conspicuous pseudobulbs (> 30 cm long), reminiscent of cigars, and platform-forming root masses of this species make it easily distinguishable from any other epiphytic orchid in s. FL.
