ID notes: Characteristic are the large (to 8 cm), sharply serrate, mostly obovate leaves, 1-2 cm, glandular petioles, large fruit (13-25 mm) and slightly hairy character of floral parts.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: This is a suspected interserial hybrid involving the Macracanthae and Crus-galli series. Rare and possibly extinct in the wild, but some cultivated examples are known.
