Solidago sempervirens Linnaeus. Subgenus: Pleiactila. Section: Maritimae. Northern Seaside Goldenrod. Phen: Late Aug-Nov. Hab: Coastal dunes, dune slacks, maritime wet grasslands, tidal marshes. Dist: NL (Newfoundland) south to ne. NC along the coast (and introduced inland in saline situations such as along salted roadways); isolated more southern occurrences likely reflect introductions.

Taxonomy Comments: The species is diploid, 2n=18.
