not marked as a favorite taxon Carex bromoides Willdenow ssp. bromoides. Common name: Common Brome Sedge. Phenology: Feb-Jul. Habitat: Swamp forests, bogs, seeps, hydric hammocks, other wetlands, often associated with base-rich soils. Distribution: Ssp. bromoides ranges from NB west to e. MN, south to c. peninsular FL and e. TX; allegedly disjunct in s. Mexico, but not in Villaseñor (2016).
