*Pteris parkeri J.J. Parker. Subgenus: Campteria. Section: Creticae. Common name: White-lined Cretan Brake, Variegated Table Fern. Habitat: Limey rocks and soils. Distribution: Native of Japan and Korea.

Origin/Endemic status: E., se., and s. Asia

Taxonomy Comments: Jaruwattanaphan, Matsumoto, & Watano (2013) provide evidence that var. albolineata (a 3x agamosporous taxon) is derived from hybridization of an ancestral diploid of P. ryukyuensis and a 2x agamosporous population of P. cretica var. cretica. As a triploid allotetraploid, it should not be treated as an infrataxon of P. cretica.

Synonymy : = POWO; = Pteris cretica L. var. albolineata Hook. — FNA2, K4, NS, SFla; < Pteris cretica L. — Fl1, Meso1, S13; < Pycnodoria cretica (L.) Small — Fl1, Sf, WH3. Basionym: Pteris parkeri J.J. Parker 1912
