Lathyrus japonicus Willdenow var. maritimus (Linnaeus) Kartesz & Gandhi. Common name: Atlantic Beach Pea. Phenology: Jun-Sep. Habitat: Ocean beaches. Distribution: The species is circumboreal, south in eastern North America to NJ (or NC?) and the shores of the Great Lakes. Reported from ocean beaches in Dare County (NC), but without documentation.
