Spiraea alba Du Roi. Common name: Narrowleaf Meadowsweet, Pipestem. Phenology: Jun-Sep; Aug-Oct. Habitat: Bogs, boggy streambanks, seepages. Distribution: QC west to AB, south to NC, IN, and MO.

Taxonomy Comments: There is considerable disagreement over whether S. alba and S. latifolia represent two species with some introgression in areas of overlap, two varieties, or a variable or clinal species.
