Geocarpon glabrum (Michaux) E.E. Schilling. Appalachian Sandwort. Phen: Apr-May. Hab: Granitic flatrocks, other outcrops of granite, granitic gneiss, or other felsic gneisses and schists, in the mountains restricted to low or medium elevations. Dist: ME and NH south to w. GA (Jones & Coile 1988) and AL, primarily on the Piedmont and also in the Cumberlands (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997).
