Paronychia erecta (Chapman) Shinners var. corymbosa (Small) Chaudhri. Common name: Hairy Squareflower. Phenology: Mar-Nov. Habitat: Coastal dunes. Distribution: Panhandle FL west to se. LA.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: Small afforded this taxon species rank (Odontonychia corymbosa; Small 1933), while modern authors have placed it into synonymy within a broader P. erecta (Hartman et al. 2005). There seems to be enough morphological evidence to at least support this taxon at varietal rank, although more study is needed.
