Solanum capsicoides Allioni. Common name: Soda-apple, Cockroachberry, Sodom-apple. Phenology: Apr-Oct (-Mar). Habitat: Disturbed areas, open woodlands. Distribution: Native of tropical America. The nativity of this species in the Southeast is uncertain.
ID notes: Solanum capsicoides is a shrub, 0.3-1 (-2) m tall, with large (2-4 cm diameter), orange to red fruits.
