*Ligustrum tschonoskii Decaisne. Tschonosky Privet. Phen: Jun-Jul. Hab: Suburban forests. Dist: Native of Japan, Korea, and Sakhalin. Known in the flora area "only from the woods along the bank of Rock Creek in Rock Creek Park" (Nesom 2009a; Shetler and Orli 2000)

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Taxonomy Comments: Two varieties within L. tschonoskii were recognized by Noshiro (1985), distinguished by slight and overlapping size differences. Var. tschonoskii is restricted in native range to Japan; var. kiyozumianum (Nakai) Ohwi occurs in Japan and Korea.
