Clinopodium brownei (Swartz) Kuntze. Common name: Browne's Savory. Phenology: Apr-Jul. Habitat: Floodplain forests, pondshores. Distribution: Sw. GA and s. FL west to e. and s. TX; Mexico, Central America, and South America. In sw. GA (Jones & Coile 1988) and reported for SC (Beaufort County, SC) (Daniel Payne, pers. comm. 2006, specimen at CLEMS).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Needing rangewide study for variation, and also (of course) appropriate generic placement.
