Utricularia macrorhiza Le Conte ex Torrey. Greater Bladderwort. Phen: May-Sep. Hab: Pools and ponds. Dist: NL (Newfoundland) west to AK, south to NC, SC, MS, TX, CA, and Mexico; also in e. Asia.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: See Taylor (1989) for a discussion of the differences between this species and U. vulgaris of Europe and w. Asia, with which it has often been combined or associated as a variety or subspecies.
