A genus of about 6-7 species, herbs, of e. and c. North America.
ID notes: The pappus of Boltonia consists of 2-3 sclerified awns plus 7-12 shorter bristles or scales, but lacks the prominent (longer) inner barbellate bristles of Erigeron. Boltonia cypselae also have winglike margins.
