*Pisum Linnaeus. Common name: Pea.

A genus of 2-5 species, annual herbs, native to w. Asia and the Mediterranean region. The recognition of Pisum as separate from Lathyrus and Lens is uncertain; Noel Ellis et al. (2024) argued for retention of traditional generic circumscriptions pending more definitive phylogenetic results.
