Taxonomy Comments: Rohrer (1997) supported taxonomic recognition of this entity. Based on morphology, she preferred specific rank, but allozyme data was not as distinctive as morphology. She settled on subspecific rank, but a combination at that rank was not published. We here return to specific rank as warranted by morphology and the long disjunction.
