Paronychia discoveryi K.R. DeLaney. Phenology: May-Nov. Habitat: Florida scrub and scrubby flatwoods, interior dunes, and longleaf pine sandhills. Distribution: Endemic to FL (at least Brevard, Hardee, Lake, Orange, St. Johns, and Volusia counties).

ID notes: The few specimens of P. discoveryi collected prior to its description were identified as P. americana, to which it is most similar. It is distinguished from P. americana by its perennial nature, large taproots, more mat-forming growth, and more truncate sepal lobes.
