Paronychia discoveryi K.R. DeLaney. Phenology: May-Nov. Habitat: Florida scrub and scrubby flatwoods, interior dune, and longleaf pine sandhill. Distribution: Endemic to FL (at least Brevard, Hardee, Lake, Orange, St. Johns, and Volusia counties).

ID notes: The few specimens of P. discoveryi collected prior to its description were identified as P. americana, to which it is most similar. It is distinguished from P. americana by its perennial nature, large taproot, more mat-forming growth, and more truncate sepal lobe.
