Euphorbia mercurialina Michaux. Cumberland Spurge, Mercury Spurge. Phen: May-Jun. Hab: Rich moist to dry forests over mafic or calcareous rocks. Dist: S. KY south through e. TN to nw. GA and n. AL. Apparently introduced in VA (City of Richmond) (Wright et al. 2023). It has been attributed to NC since 1992, but this material does not match E. mercurialina and is treated here as Euphorbia species 5.
