Hab: Rich moist forests in bottomlands or on slopes, in rich soil around rock outcrops, in swamps or seeps, especially over calcareous rocks (such as dolomite) or mafic rocks (such as amphibolite). Dist: NJ, PA, and OH south to w. NC and n. GA.
