Chenopodiaceae Ventenat. Goosefoot Family.
A family of about 100 genera and about 1500 species, herbs and shrubs, cosmopolitan, but especially in xeric and/or saline areas. Sometimes recently included in the Amaranthaceae, but each traditional family is monophyletic and there seems no reason to combine them.
