Hab: This layers of sand and gravel or muck in seepage areas on sandstone, nepheline syenite, and prairie seeps (Interior Highlands and WGCP) or granite flatrocks (in GA), other seepages, bogs. Dist: W. AR and e. OK south to e. TX; disjunct in c. GA.

Taxonomy Comments: See Watson et al. (2002) for information on variation within the species. The spelling of the epithet should be "koernickeanum".

Synonymy: = Eriocaulon koernickianum – Ar, ETx1, FNA22, K1, K3, K4, orthographic variant; = Eriocaulon kornickianum – GW1, orthographic variant; = Eriocaulon körnickianum – S13, Tx, orthographic variant
