Anemone virginiana Linnaeus var. alba (Oakes) Alph. Wood. Section: Anemone. Subsection: Virginianae. Phen: Late May-Jul. Hab: Calcareous rocks and woodlands Dist: This variety ranges south to se. NY and n. NJ. Reports form PA are based on misidentifications (S. Grund, pers.comm., 2023).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Keener, Dix, & Dutton (1996) discuss the intergrading varieties of A. virginiana.
