Hab: Swamps and cabbage palm / sawgrass marshes, especially in the transition zones between coastal hydric hammocks (oak and palm with limestone near the surface) and sawgrass marshes. Dist: Sw. GA, e. GA, and Panhandle FL east along the Big Bend to Levy County.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: More western populations in se. MO, e. AR, and se. TX are now placed in L. pilosa J.A. Schrader &W.R. Graves ssp. pilosa (se. TX) and L. pilosa ssp. ozarkana J.A. Schrader & W.R. Graves (se. MO and e. AR).
