Geocarpon carolinianum (Walter) E.E. Schilling. Carolina Sandwort, Longroot. Phen: Apr-Jul. Hab: Deep white sands of barren longleaf pine sandhills, sand barrens, other dry sandy habitats, as in the NJ Pine Barrens. Dist: NY (Long Island) and formerly RI, to Panhandle FL, on the Coastal Plain.
