Plantago aristata Michaux. Buckhorn Plantain, Largebracted Plantain. Phen: Late Apr-Nov. Hab: Sandy and other barren soils, disturbed areas, especially dry, barren, exposed soil, such as clay soils denuded by bulldozing. Dist: The original distribution obscure; perhaps from OH west to NE, south to Panhandle FL and TX.
