Stems: Stems 1 or more hairy, leafless flowering scapes from a dense basal rosette.

Leaves: Leaves basal, narrowly elliptic or lance-shaped, 4-10 in. long, with 3-5 parallel veins, smooth to sparsely hairy.

Inforescence:

Flowers: Flowers in dense, conical spike (3/4-2 in. long) at top of each scape; white; less than 1/4 in. wide; consisting of a tiny corolla with 4 spreading lobes, 4 sepals, some papery bracts, and the most conspicuous feature--strongly protruding stamens.
