Taxonomy Comments: This species is an allotetraploid derived from hybridization between A. verecundum and A. curtissii (itself a hybrid derivative of A. abscissum × verecundum). Its chromosome complement can be symbolized as AVVV.

Synonymy: = Fl1, FNA2, K3, Sf; = Asplenium ×plenum – WH3
