ERICACEAE

Pyrola Linnaeus. Shinleaf, Pyrola.

Key to Pyrola

A genus of 30-35 species, subshrubs, circumboreal and also in Sumatra and Guatemala. The inclusion of this group of species in the Ericaceae or its recognition as a separate family has been controversial. Studies (Judd & Kron 1993, Kron & Chase 1993) suggest that it is best resubmerged in the Ericaceae.
